We play Spearhead using 20mm fig/models and extend ranges by 50%. All European fronts are represented in our collections from 1940 France to all stages of the eastern front and 1944-5 in the west. NOTES: The AWC meets on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month. It is a non-profit organisation with approximately 30 members, and is one of six similar clubs in the Auckland region. The club meets twice a month and produces a quarterly newsletter called "Action above the Bombays". The most popular rules and/or periods at the AWC are: Spearhead (6mm World War II), D.B.R. (15mm Renaissance), D.B.M. (15mm Ancient & Medieval), Corps de Armee (15mm Napoleonics), and a little bit of Fire & Fury (15mm American Civil War). There are also a few naval and quite a few air enthusiasts. The Northwest Historical Miniatures Gaming Society which encompasses the states of Washington and Oregon and British Columbia in Canada has several hundred members. NOTES: -- CONNETICUT & NEW YORK STATE Conneticut & New York State ADDRESS: Meetings have been held in Darien, CT, although the Club will move; probably to New Haven, CT. eMAIL CONTACT: George Schneider. NOTES: The Club meets on the 2nd Saturday of each month and holds 2 regional conventions annually (JAN & SEPT). There are about 50 regular members and up to 150 more attendees (including attendance at conventions) on a less regular basis. Club activities include board and card (fantasy & historical) games as well as historical miniatures. I suppose the largest mini's interest is in American Civil War (A-Z). Others include SPEARHEAD, SIMTAC WW-II aerial rules; S-BASE3 computer naval WW-I/II; A-Z Sailing Ships (18th-19th Cent); CARNAGE & GLORY (computer-assisted) Napoleonics, Civil War, Franco-Prussian War and just now the 7 Years War. Campaigns include BREAKTHROUGH (SPEARHEAD) and C&G ACW. Dues are $60 annually or $8/meeting. NOTES: The "official" meeting is on Thursday night from approx. 7PM until Midnight. There are 37 members, usual turn out is between 12 and 20 on a Thursday. We play mostly Tactica and Spearhead as well as a bunch of "house rules" games. The motto of our club is "abuse is free" with Arty Conliffe being the chief recipient.
